Parking: Please ensure that your car is parked without obstruction to other guests. All vehicles are parked and driven on the Park at the owner's risk. The Road Traffic Act applies to road users.
Your responsibility: Please treat our property with respect and care. If you damage something please inform us as soon as possible in order that we can make relevant arrangements to replace/repair in time for the next holidaymaker, or indeed for your party if necessary. Holidaymakers will be held responsible for damage to the caravan(s) and contents. If the caravan is left in an excessively dirty condition, you may be charged for additional cleaning costs . First named on the booking form will be assumed to be the person responsible for the group. He/she will be the person charged for additional costs. For the convenience of other guests, we reserve the right to terminate the holiday without compensation, whereby unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking form, or their guests might impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others. Only those listed on the booking form may occupy the caravan. First named on the booking form must be resident in the caravan for the duration of the holiday.
Bookings:
The following terms and conditions (the 'booking conditions') will apply to your booking. A contract between you Holidays at Devon Cliffs will come into existence either (i) when we accept your booking and deposit payment by issuing written confirmation/email of your booking or (ii) if you have made your booking by telephone when we tell you on the telephone, or on line over the internet that your booking is confirmed.
The contract binds you and all the members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms and conditions of booking. Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract and loss of the booking.
Any changes must be made at least 8 weeks before the holiday date, and be confirmed to us in writing/by telephone by the same person who made the booking, or their Travel Agent.
Where changes are sought to be made within 8 weeks of the start of the holiday it will be treated as a cancellation, and be subject to cancellation charges as outlined.
If you cancel your booking
Should you wish to cancel your holiday please call on 01626 336381 and they will advise you. Your cancellation must also be notified to us in writing. The written notification should be sent to us by recorded delivery as your cancellation will not take effect until we receive the written confirmation. If we do not receive written confirmation of your cancellation before your holiday has commenced no refund will be given.
a). Once you have committed to booking a holiday with us, your booking will be treated as Provisional pending receipt of the deposit. We will hold the booking as a Provisional for five working days, after which time the holiday will be re-advertised.
b). For a booking that will commence in less than eight weeks, the entire payment will due immediately.
c). For bookings for holidays commencing in three weeks or less we will require 'cash on the day' and meet you at the caravan with keys and passes.
Paying the balance of your holiday: If the balance is not received by the 'Date Due' (eight weeks before the holiday) then your holiday will be treated as a cancellation (see below)
Cancellation of your Holiday: If you cancel your holiday, you must should notify us in writing. The date of cancellation is the day when we receive written notification. In the event of cancellation, a sliding scale of charges applies as laid out below:
i) If you cancel more than 56 days (eight weeks) before your start date, then your deposit will be forfeit.
ii) If you cancel within 56 days (eight weeks) you will be liable for the following percentages of the total Holiday cost (excluding deposit):
Cancel 56-42 days before holiday start date: 40%
Cancel 42-21 days before holiday start date: 50%
Cancel 20-14 days before holiday start date: 60%
Cancel 13-day before arrival or later: 100%
Children: Supervision of young children is bly recommended during the use of Play Facilities and in the Swimming Pool area. Children under 8 years of age and those that cannot swim will not be permitted in the Swimming Pool unless supervised by an adult
Pets: We do not accept pets in any of our caravans.
Insurance: It is recommended that you purchase some form of Holiday Insurance from your local broker to cover your personal luggage, personal money, holiday cancellation/curtailment, personal and public liability etc. This type of cover is fairly standard and not too costly.
Smoking: We do not allow smoking in any of our caravans unless it is specifically designated ‘Smoking Allowed’ If you or your guests do smoke, you are still welcome but please refrain from smoking inside the caravans.
Gas: All of our caravans are now fitted with gas changeover valves, or enjoy the luxury of piped gas. Thus it is unlikely that you will ever need to change a bottle. In the unlikely even that your gas supply is interrupted, please contact us for advice.
Under 21’s:
Devon Cliffs Holiday Park and its facilities are intended for family and adult holidays. We are therefore sorry that we cannot accept bookings from persons of 21 years of age or younger. We are unable to accept bookings for couples, or groups from this age group, whether single sexed or mixed. We reserve the right to apply discretion in certain circumstances. We reserve the right to retain the keys for accommodation if this condition is contravened.
What do you need to bring?: We supply Duvets, pillows and mattress covers. Guests are expected to provide their own sheets, duvet covers and pillowslips. Body contact with the bedding we provide will not be allowed. Cost of laundry/new (as applicable) will be charged to customer. Our well equipped Self-Catering accommodation contains cooking items, crockery and cutlery. You will need to bring washing up materials, plus towels, toiletries and personal effects.
Special requirements
If you have any other special requests regarding your holiday accommodation please call 01626 336381 and confirm your request in writing. Please include a telephone number in case of any query. We will endeavour to meet your requests, but we are very sorry that these cannot be guaranteed.
All requirements must be confirmed in writing. Special requests cannot be made a condition of your booking as they are always subject to availability.
Park Rules: Park Rules are displayed on Park. Please ensure that you and your party comply with these.
The following are general terms and conditions that apply to the Holiday Park.
Arrival and departure times
On your day of arrival your accommodation is available from 3.30pm, or earlier by arrangement - please check key collection times shown on your email confirmation of booking. We are happy to welcome you at the Park earlier where you can take advantage of the Park facilities until your accommodation is ready for you. In order for us to prepare for our next guests we do ask that you vacate your accommodation by 10.00am on your day of departure.
Late Arrivals
If you expect to arrive after 6.00pm on the first day of your stay, please let the Park know so we can make arrangements for you to collect your keys.
Your responsibility
Please note: Children remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times, as they do at any of our activities or facilities. The club activities form part of our entertainment programme, and are not child care facilities. We do not provide supervision of the children during the sessions and this is not a child minding facility and parents are required to remain and supervise their children at all times throughout the activity sessions.
It is important that you always know where your children are and that you know the times that the activities start and finish.
It is particularly important that you make sure that your children understand that they should always obey the instructions of the FunStars, T-CO leaders, Sports Instructors/Co-ordinators and Lifeguards, so that the possibility of accidents can be reduced.
Please take care
Please treat the property, facilities and accommodation at your Park with respect and care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them.
In the event that you notice damage to any facility or in your accommodation please report it to Reception immediately so that we can take the appropriate action.
Accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday and you may be charged for any loss or damage found. We reserve the right to enter accommodation under any circumstances or emergencies.
For the convenience of all our guests ball games are not permitted in the areas between and around the accommodation.
Licensing laws
In accordance with UK licensing laws, we can only sell alcohol to persons aged 18 or over. We may require you to show proof of age using an approved form of identification. We accept the following forms of ID: full passport, a new style driving licence incorporating a photograph, a Portman Group proof of age card.
Use of your holiday home
Only those people listed on the booking can occupy your accommodation and use the facilities of the Park. If this legal requirement is not met, your booking will be terminated and you will be asked to leave, with no refund made.
Unreasonable behaviour
For the convenience of our guests, we reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation, where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking or their guests might impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of other guests.
Infectious diseases
Infectious or contagious diseases could easily be passed to other guests whilst on holiday. You must inform the Duty Manager should you contract any such illness whilst on holiday. In order to protect our guests and team, anyone found to have such a condition may be confined or requested to leave the Park. Please note that in such circumstances we are unable to offer refunds and we therefore recommend you take out personal insurance.
Availability of facilities
Please note that at Parks with more than one evening entertainment venue, at certain times of the season, entertainment may only be provided in one venue, in order to ensure everyone's enjoyment.
At selected Parks during early and late periods entertainment is provided at weekends only, although our bars will be open for your enjoyment during the week.
Certain facilities may also have height and/or age restrictions - please call 0870 242 5678 to check. To ensure our guests enjoyment in the Indoor and Outdoor Pools, session bathing may occur.
The operation of the Park is subject to legislation and the guidelines laid down by the Health & Safety Executive and Local Authorities and their codes of practice. We accordingly reserve the right to adjust our services in order to meet these standards.
It is possible that in some circumstances accommodation, entertainment, sports activities or a facility may be temporarily withdrawn, due to maintenance, renovation, adverse weather conditions, changes in governmental legislation, or any other factor outside our control.
We reserve the right to make such alterations in the above circumstances without prior notice, and are unable to accept liability for the loss of an advertised facility, or to pay compensation for any inconvenience caused.
Certain facilities are subject to an additional cost, please see individual Park pages for details. Please note off peak facilities may be reduced or restricted. Facilities at the Park may be subject to a refundable booking deposit. You are welcome to use your own sports equipment, but equipment can be hired from the Park at a nominal charge.
Venues
Due to space restrictions and licensing laws some facilities have age restrictions covering certain times.
FunWorks Passes
All holidaymakers names are registered at the club on the Park. The prices of the club FunWorks passes are included in the holiday cost. You can collect your passes from reception on arrival. Your FunWorks pass entitles you to use the swimming pools, participate in the Children's Clubs together with the use of leisure/entertainment facilities. Please note that the Local Club Licencing Laws are such that members names and addresses must be registered a minimum of 48 hours in advance. Certain facilities listed on the Haven and British Holidays website are subject to an additional cost. Please note: If FunWorks passes are lost, it will be necessary to charge for replacements at the Park. Please check at reception.
Website accuracy
We take every care to ensure that the details shown on the website are accurate.
Sometimes, due to operational circumtances, activities may have to be withdrawn. Acts and artists featured are representative of those planned to appear in 2006. All reasonable efforts are made to ensure these acts and artists appear and activities take place. If, for any reason, acts are unable to appear, acts of a similar calibre will be entertaining guests during the season.
No party shall be allowed to reproduce any of the contents of this website (including photographs) without written permission of Holiday at Devon Cliffs or any other copyright owner.
CONDITIONS OF BOOKING
In addition to the above we accept responsibility for those arrangements of your holiday which are within our control, but we cannot accept liability for any injury, loss or damage suffered by you or any other member of your party due to circumstances outside our control.
For all claims other than death or personal injury, you are asked to notify any shortcomings or complaints to the Reception/Duty Manager immediately, so that they can be remedied for you. Claims may be reduced or rejected if we have not been given the opportunity to put matters right or investigate your concerns.
General
In these booking conditions 'you' and 'your' refers to the person who makes the booking; 'we', 'us' and 'our' refers to Holiday at Devon Cliffs of 8 Rydon Lane, Kingsteignton, Devon TQ12 3LR; 'holiday party' refers to those persons named on the booking and any person added to the booking at a later date; the 'Park' means Haven Holiday Park, Devon Cliffs, Exmouth, Devon.
